Secondary Progressions
A timing technique that moves the chart one day for each year of life.
Secondary progressions advance the chart by one day for every year of life (day-for-a-year). They reveal inner development, shifting priorities, and the slow evolution of identity. The progressed Sun, Moon, personal planets, and angles are the most sensitive indicators.

A progressed Moon changing signs can describe a new emotional chapter that lasts about 2-3 years.
Cultural Context
The day-for-a-year technique has roots in biblical symbolism (Ezekiel 4:6: 'I have assigned you a day for each year') and was formalized in medieval European astrology. It remains the most widely used progression system in Western astrology. Vedic astrology uses a different timing system called Dasha, which assigns planetary periods based on the Moon's nakshatra at birth.
