Anti-Vertex
The opposite of the Vertex - what you bring to fated encounters.
The Anti-Vertex is the point directly opposite (180°) the Vertex in your chart. While the Vertex represents what comes to you through fate and encounters beyond your control, the Anti-Vertex represents the qualities, energy, and approach you bring to those destined meetings. It's found in the eastern half of your chart, typically between the 11th and 2nd houses.
Example
If your Anti-Vertex is in Taurus in the 1st house, you bring stability, patience, and sensory awareness to your fated encounters.
Cultural Context
The Anti-Vertex is less commonly discussed than the Vertex itself, but modern astrologers increasingly emphasize it as the 'active' side of the fated axis. While the Vertex is where you receive, the Anti-Vertex is where you give. Together they form a complete picture of your relationship with destiny.
Famous Example
In synastry (relationship astrology), when one person's planet conjuncts another's Anti-Vertex, it suggests that person actively brings the energy the other needs for their destined encounters. This is considered a strong indicator of significant relationships.
Did You Know?
The Vertex/Anti-Vertex axis always falls across houses 5-7 and 11-1 (approximately), creating a 'fate line' in your chart. Some astrologers consider this axis as important as the Ascendant-Descendant axis for understanding the role of destiny in your life.
